Altun Ha Mayan Ruins in Belize

 Trisha and I took a tour of some Mayan Ruins 30 miles north of Belize City.

This is the English translation of Altun Ha. The city was first built around 250 BC.

 

 While digging for gravel to build the Trans American Highway they discovered this sight

There were several of these type of windows in the walls. 

I can't remember what he told me they were for or represented.

 Trisha wanted to do a yoga stance to get in touch with the spirits.

 The Mayan performed sacrafices and other cerimonies on top of this temple.

The archeologists found several pieces of jade on top.

 Inside they found a tomb and the largest jade statue ever found at any Mayan ruin.
 (6" high and 9 3/4 pounds).

Birth of Jordynn

We had a wonderful time this week. We were invited to be at the hospital when our first granddaughter was born. We received a call at our hotel room at 5:00 am Monday morning from Steven to meet him at the hospital. I dropped off Laurie who went up and was in the room when Jordynn was born. I loaded up Peyton and Bradyn and brought them back to the hotel where Trisha and I  took them to eat breakfast and then changed into our swim suits and played with them in the hotels pool.

After returning from the pool and having a nutritious meal from Wendy's we got the call to bring the boys to the hospital to meet their new sister.

Peyton wasn't to sure about his sister the first day but when we took him back  the next day all he wanted to do was hold baby Jordynn.

 Had fun in the pool with the boys. I haven't swam this much since lived in Phoenix. If I spent more time with my grandchildren I don't think I would have a weight problem because they kept me on my toys all the time. I too Peyton and Bradyn to McDonalds and thought I was going to have to climb up and retrieve the boys because they wouldn't come down.

Andrew and Alyssa came down to Nana and Papa's to celebrate Alyssa's birthday and we watched Kale and Krew while they went to the movies. We drove over to the ponds and fed the ducks a loaf of bread. I had my hands full keeping Krew from jumping in and swimming with the ducks. I don't know if Kale had more fun throwing bread at the ducks or chasing them.

We came back to the house and Papa brought out Nana's golf clubs and we practiced hitting balls in the backyard.

Good looking family. Soon to have a little girl.

 Laurie and I will be up the weekend of the 7th for the birth of Jordyn our first granddaughter. Hope Brooke can hold out that long.

 While I was in Utah to celebrate Peyton's 4th birthday I was staying at my parents while Mom was going through another session of her chemo treatments. Family came down to visit and April even helped clean up and start organizing the garage and had a garage sale. You heard it, a garage sale. I didn't say Nana was happy it even brought tears at times but we got through it. It has been rough going for Mom and doesn't know when she will finally call it quits with the chemo. It has made her tired and sick. Josie and Susan have spent a lot of time taking care of Mom and Dad and April comes down to help whenever they aren't there. Laurie and I will be back up this next week to spend more time with Mom and Dad.
